Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan

 

 

Mr. Shahid Rashid is a former civil servant, with over 35 years of diversified experience in the public sector holding several prestigious positions at the field, secretariat and policy level. He served the Government of Pakistan as Federal Secretary in the Statistics, Establishment, Industries, Board of Investment, Tourism, Information Technology and Textile Industry Divisions. His other assignments included Principal Secretary to Governor of the Punjab, Secretary of Education, Health and Industries Departments in the Government of the Punjab. His experience also includes eight year tenure under the Government of Balochistan. He served as CEO, Small & Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) for over three years. He was also appointed as Agriculture Counsellor / Alternate Permanent Representative to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture (FAO/WFP/IFAD) at Rome, Italy where he served for over six years.

 

Mr. Shahid obtained his professional education from national and international universities. He did his Masters in Public Administration (MPA) from Harvard University, USA after being awarded Edward S. Mason Fellowship for study at John F. Kennedy School of Government. He also has a Master’s degree in Political Science and Bachelor of Law from University of the Punjab, Lahore. He is a recipient of the Rotary Foundation Educational Award.

 

Mr. Shahid represented Pakistan at FAO Conference/FAO Council/WFP Executive Board /IFAD Executive Board meetings at Rome, Italy. He also had the honour of representing Pakistan at various other international forums.
