Chairman IPO for promoting IPR culture during meeting with Brand Foundation
KARACHI, Nov 8, 2018: In order to promote the Intellectual Property (IP) culture in the country, Mr. Mujeeb Ahmed Khan, Chairman, Intellectual Property Organization (IPO-Pakistan) has emphasized the need of advocacy and massive awareness campaign focusing on all stakeholders, especially academia, chambers and business community. He said this in a meeting with Brand Foundation, Karachi with the representatives of the foundation. The Chairman explained how IPO was having close interaction with the law enforcement agencies for strengthening the IPR enforcement mechanism. Brand foundation raised a serious concern on issuance of registration of Trademark by IPO and registering a company with SECP, there has been instances where duplication was reported which resulted into litigation. CEO Brand foundation had requested the Chairman to address this issue. In this regard, Mr. Mujeeb directed to coordinate with SECP and workout the signing of an MOU for mutually sharing the data.
