ISLAMABAD, February 22, 2021: Intellectual Property Organization (IPO-Pakistan) and Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) Monday joined hands to curb menace of counterfeiting from the country and to materialize this concept, the two organizations agreed for data sharing and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs).
Mr. Mujeeb Ahmed Khan, Chairman, IPO-Pakistan and Ms. Rahat Kaunain Hassan signed the MoU. Ms. Bushra Naz Malik, Member CCP and Executive Directors of IPO-Pakistan Mr. Meesaq Arif and Mr. Muhammad Naseer also witnessed the signing ceremony.
Under this MoU, both Organizations will share data with each other in order to eradicate counterfeiting, abuse of Trade Mark, illicit trade and deceptive marketing in order to protect and promote Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) in the country.
This is the third MoU of its kind, previously IPO-Pakistan has MoUs with Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) for data sharing.
