IPO-PCSIR join hands to promote IP culture in the country

ISLAMABAD, May 27, 2021: Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Mr. Shibli Faraz has termed research and innovation the backbone for country’s economy and emphasized to hold quality based research in all fields of Science and Technology.  

He expressed these views during a signing agreement between Intellectual Property Organization (IPO-Pakistan) and Pakistan Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (PCSIR) in which both organizations agree to conduct a joint campaign for raising awareness regarding intellectual property issues.

Mr. Mujeeb Ahmed Khan, Chairman IPO-Pakistan and Dr. Syed Hussain Abidi, Chairman PCSIR signed on behalf of their respective organizations.

As per agreement, both organizations will share information and guide each other on IP right protection, commercialization and licensing arrangements with third parties. PCSIR, in collaboration with IPO, will establish a digital database of its patents and R&D activities till date.

Mr. Shibli Faraz appreciated IPO and PCSIR for their coordinated efforts and hoped that this cooperation will develop collaboration to promote innovation in the areas of Scientific & Technological research.
